Epoxy garage floors
Epoxy garage floors in Bend and Central Oregon
Central Oregon is hard on a garage floor. A flake epoxy floor seals the concrete, takes the abuse, and sweeps or hoses clean.
Cinder and pumice come in on the tyres, road grit and de-icer come in all winter, and bare concrete dusts and stains.
What a garage job looks like
- Grind. We grind the concrete to open the surface so the epoxy bonds to it. This is the step that decides whether the floor lasts.
- Repair. Cracks and chips filled before anything goes down.
- Base coat and flake. Epoxy base coat, with flake broadcast into it while it's wet.
- Clear topcoat. Sealed under a clear coat for wear, chemicals and easy cleaning.
How soon you can walk and park on it depends on the coating and the temperature. We'll give you the times for your floor when we quote.
Choosing a finish
- Flake is the usual pick for a garage. The pattern hides dust, tyre marks and small scratches between cleanings and adds grip when the floor is wet.
- Metallic for a garage that's also a showpiece or a workshop people see.
- Solid colour for a plain, uniform floor.
There's no one right answer. We bring samples to the estimate.
Common questions
What's the best epoxy finish for a garage?
Flake, for most garages. It hides dust and wear, adds grip, and is the finish most of our garage customers choose.
Will epoxy peel?
Epoxy peels when it's applied over concrete that wasn't prepared. We grind the concrete before coating so the epoxy bonds to it.
Can you epoxy a garage floor in winter?
Cold slows the cure, so in winter the timing depends on how warm the garage can be kept. We'll talk it through at the estimate and schedule around it.
